The Battle Creek Alliance is a Northern California-based Sierra Nevada / Cascades regional alliance of residents and organizations whose lives are impacted by unsustainable logging practices including herbicide contamination of the air and water, destruction of wildlife habitat, and increased greenhouse gas emissions. A fast growing membership, the Battle Creek Alliance has been protesting clearcutting through street activism, regional newspaper advertising, televised Public Service Announcements, internet broadcasting, web sites and legislative interaction.
The BCA is a PLAINTIFF on a lawsuit against the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CDF), in which Sierra Pacific Industries (SPI) is a Real Party and Interest and Defendent. The petition was filed on January 18th, 2008 in the Superior Court of California in the county of Tehama. The petition can be found here . A summary of the petition can be found here .
